Furthermore, if the play doesn’t work well, they will tell the other players their opinion to ensure that it doesn’t happen again. For Newcastle, it’s Smith and Butt, two who work exceptionally well together. Regardless of the shape of the game, they will be in it directing traffic and seeing any weakness in the opposing team.

In terms of the midfield position, there could really be no alternative. He is a born leader, much like his counterpart, and has the skills to match it up. He has played in every single season of the Premier League, and there is only a couple who could say the same. His style of play is rugged, and the way that he finesses the ball is something that hasn’t been seen by many people. He hasn’t been with the Magpies for very long, but he can identify what it takes to be a winner, as he is very dedicated to his new home. In the upcoming season, expect Nicky Butt to be a continued threat to the offense, as he will be letting nothing get by him.
